Privacy and health data
Fertility is personal. We collect as little as we can, never sell it, and explain exactly what happens to it.
Updated Oct 19, 2026
This policy explains what Fertility Days ("we") collects when you use fertilitydays.com, and your choices. It includes our consumer health data privacy policy for readers in states with health-data laws, such as Washington's My Health My Data Act.
The short version
- You can read every page and use every calculator without giving us anything. The calculators run in your browser: the dates you type are not sent to us.
- If you sign up for emails or email yourself quiz results, we store your email address and the answers you chose to send.
- We never sell your personal data or your health data, and we never use it for targeted advertising.
What we collect
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | You sign up or email yourself quiz results | To send the emails you asked for |
| Journey step, optional first day of last period | You add them to the email form | To time cycle-based emails (for example, "your fertile days start in 3 days") |
| Quiz answers (step, who is trying, age band, months trying, cycle regularity, conditions you tick, budget) | Only if you email yourself the results | To send your results and the right follow-up emails; in aggregate, for anonymous research |
| Community review: the product, your ratings and review, the name and location you choose to show, and optionally what you paid, how long you used it, whether you got pregnant, conditions you tick and your age range | You write a community review | To publish your review after a person on our team reads it |
| Community review: your email, any proof of purchase, and a hash of your IP address | You write a review | Private, never published: to contact you about your review, check a purchase, and stop spam and fake reviews |
| Clicks on links to sellers | You click a "Visit" link | To count which pages lead to which sellers |
| Analytics (pages viewed and for how long, links and buttons clicked, browser and device, approximate location from IP) | When you visit | To understand which pages help readers. We use PostHog, which stores data in the United States, and Ahrefs Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and counts visits without a visitor ID; requests go through /ingest on our own domain. PostHog keeps a random visitor ID in your browser's localStorage. The quiz and the review form are excluded from click capture, and no analytics tool records what you type |
Cycle dates, conditions and pregnancy-related answers are consumer health data. In a community review, the health details you choose to share are published with your review only if you tick the consent box; you can ask us to remove your review at any time. We collect them only with your action and consent, and only for the purposes above.
Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers that process it for us under contract: our email platform (to send emails), our hosting provider, and our analytics provider. We do not share consumer health data with advertisers, data brokers or the brands we review. We may disclose data if the law requires it.
Aggregate research
We may publish reports based on aggregated, de-identified quiz answers (for example, "how long readers have been trying, by age band"). These never identify a person.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal and health data we hold about you, or withdraw consent for its use, at any time: email [email protected] from the address you signed up with. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe. We answer requests within 45 days. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer; residents of Washington may also contact the Washington State Attorney General.
Retention and security
We keep email signup data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and click and analytics logs for up to 24 months. Data is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed for the site to work and, if enabled, Google Analytics. PostHog sets no cookies; it uses localStorage. We do not use advertising cookies.
Children
Fertility Days is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes and contact
We will post changes here with a new date. Questions: [email protected].
